August 30th is National Marshmallow Toasting Day

No one really knows who proclaimed it but today (August 30th) is National Marshmallow toasting day.  It's just another day to add to our calendars but it's a great day to celebrate with the kids, or even host your own Marshmallow toasting party - just because!  I used to love smores as a kid and it's been years since I've had one.  I discovered this inexpensive decadent treat at 6th grade overnight camp.  There is nothing like the taste of a gooey marshmallow roasted over an open flame.  Check out this great recipe for a twist on smores! 
Smores Recipe Ingredients 1 cup butter, melted1/3 cup white sugar3 cups graham cracker crumbs2 cups semisweet chocolate chips3 cups miniature marshmallows DirectionsPreheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish. In a medium bowl, combine butter, sugar and graham cracker crumbs until well coated. Press half of crumb mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
